Micronic Mydata receives order for laser direct imaging (LDI) tool

Täby, Sweden – 28 January, 2013 – Micronic Mydata AB (publ), listed on NASDAQ OMX Nordic Stockholm, Small Cap: MICR, today announced an order for an LDI 5s tool –  a revolutionary direct write lithography technology enabling sub-10 micron manufacturing of advanced chip packaging substrates.

Micronic Mydata’s LDI 5s series direct imaging tool has been developed to manufacture the most advanced substrates used in the production and assembly of leading edge semiconductor chips. These chips are a part of our everyday lives, found in everything from smart phones to computers and large screen TVs. This production tool shipment is expected to occur during the first quarter, 2014.

“This purchase order represents a significant step toward industry acceptance of Micronic Mydata’s LDI technology”, commented Lars Josefsson, President and CEO at Micronic Mydata AB.

Micronic Mydata has been working with industry leaders to develop and refine a production-worthy solution for cost-effective patterning of advanced substrates. The two development tools in the field proved to be key factors in enhancing the platform design and demonstrating integrated performance.
