Dennis Brager Speaking on International Tax Enforcement at LACBA Tax Night

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brager Tax Law Group founder Dennis Brager, a tax litigation attorney, California State Bar Certified Tax Specialist and former Senior Trial Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, will be speaking at the Los Angeles County Bar Association's 2013 Tax Night.

Brager will lead a panel titled International Tax Enforcement Update. Earlier this year, a 79-year old Florida woman pled guilty to FBAR related criminal tax charges. With the reporting provisions of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Account (FATCA) kicking in soon and the IRS indicting Swiss bankers, foreign bank account holders need to tread carefully. "For those who have undeclared foreign accounts, decisions need to made soon, or else the IRS will make the decisions for you, and it's not likely to be pretty," says Brager. "I'll be discussing if it's possible for foreign account holders to fix their offshore tax problems without losing their life savings."

Tax Night is a popular annual event for Los Angeles tax attorneys, and CPAs to hear about the latest issues and updates in tax law. This year's Tax Night will feature updates on the Current Internal Revenue Service Use of Collection Tools, What Employers Need to be Doing Now to Comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Recent Fiscal Cliff Tax Law Update and Proposed Tax Reform Legislation, Offer in Compromise Program, Effects of Dalton on Collection Due Process Hearing, Ex Parte Communications – Rapid Appeals Process & Fast Track, among other topics.

The event will be held on February 12, 2013 from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Los Angeles County Bar Association at 1055 West 7th Street, Los Angeles 90017. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the LACBA's website at www.lacba.org.
