Peab has been contracted to expand the railway at Mälarbanan

Peab has been contracted to build the railway line between Barkarby and Kallhäll
in the Mälarbanan project. This is the first stage of the expansion between
Tomteboda and Kallhäll in northwestern Stockholm. The work will be done in close
collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration and the project engineer
Vectura.
The client is the Swedish Transport Administration and the order value amounts
to SEK 1.18 billion.
On the eight-kilometer route will Peab perform soil and track work for four new
tracks, widening of existing railway bridges, cable diversions, retaining walls
and more.
"This is an important project for infrastructure in the Mälardalen area and this
creates a continued stability in the region. Peab will here use the experience
and competence which have been developed in earlier railway projects, "says
Roger Linnér, manager business area Civil Engineering Peab.
Work will begin in spring 2013 and is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The Mälarbanan railway goes north of Lake Mälaren from Stockholm via Västerås to
