Hess AG: Preliminary insolvency administrator 

The management board of Hess AG (ISIN: DE000A0N3EJ6) filed today an
application for insolvency with the competent local court (insolvency
court). As well, the management of Heß Lichttechnik GmbH, a 100 per cent
subsidiary of Hess AG filed an application for insolvency.

In the course of such filings, the local court of Villingen-Schwenningen
(insolvency court) appointed, as the company got to know just now, Mr.
Attorney-at-law Martin Mucha, law firm Grub Brugger & Partner, Stuttgart,
as preliminary insolvency administrator of both companies. Transfers of
properties of the company require the consent of the preliminary insolvency
administrator (section 21 (2) no. 2, 2nd alt. German Insolvency Code).
