The not audited data of JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” assures – the annual turnover at 2012 is higher than ever and reaches LVL 51.1 Million (EUR 72.71 Million). It’s for 7% higher than the annual turnover of 2011. The net profit of the company has reached LVL 2.75 Million (EUR 3.91 Million) or 79.6% more as 2011. Also 2013 started well. We have came to the record of the annual turnover for the January – LVL 5.17 Million (EUR 7.36 Million) that means the growth of 29% in comparison to January 2012. The budget for January has been realized for 147%. This is an estimable increase because traditionally the activity of the market at the winter in lower.
2012 has the JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” strengthened it’s positions at the markets and has raise the turnover. The sales volume in 2012 in comparison to 2011 increased in the geographic markets of USA and Canada (for 24%), Russia and Ukraine (for 11%) as well as other countries (inc. Swiss, Japan, India, Croatia etc.) – the growth of 33%. In the European Union was the sales volume stable, with not so large growth – 3%.
Analysing the segments of products, the growth of the sales volume has been recognized for the products with high added value: nettings, non-woven fabrics and the products with higher SiO2 content. These products were sold for 31% more than in 2011. For the other product segments is the sales volume stable.
2012 has the JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” already finished the construction of the new, third glass melting furnace. The new furnace will ensure the growth of fiberglass production capacity and quality. For 2013 plans the JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” to invest LVL 7.1 Million (EUR 10.1 Million) for the development of the company, including new plants, modernization and a new warehouse, with the aim of increasing the production capacity.
Concerning the tendencies of the market trends as well as the results of the company, the management of JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” prognoses that the annual turnover for 2013 could reach LVL 62.87 Million (EUR 89.46 Million). In addition to the prognoses of the company’s management and the budget of JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” the net profit at 2013 could reach LVL 5.17 Million (EUR 7.36 Million). “All depends of the large price increase for the electricity, including the mandatory procurement component, and natural gas, growing rapid and unpredictable. Important are the solutions, found by the government of Latvia. We are an energy-intensive company with 900 employees, waiting for these solutions of the government,” says the chairman of the JSC “Valmieras stikla šķiedra” Andris Oskars Brutāns.
