Smart Card Alliance Continues Webinar Series on Mobile and NFC Security with 'Secure Elements 101'


PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., March 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Continuing its webinar series on mobile and NFC security, the Smart Card Alliance Mobile and NFC Council announced the second webinar, "Secure Elements 101," for March 28, 2013. The series of four webinars, held in partnership with GlobalPlatform and the NFC Forum, aims to provide mobile application developers and the mobile community with the education they need to choose the best level of security for their NFC applications.

An essential component for NFC applications that require strong security, the secure element (SE) is a tamper-resistant platform that can securely host applications and their confidential and cryptographic data. In this webinar, expert speakers will describe the role of the secure element and its interaction with applications on the mobile device, the types of secure elements currently being used in mobile devices, and the use of secure elements in different applications.  The speakers for this webinar are:

To continue its educational initiatives on NFC and applications, the Smart Card Alliance will host a full day workshop at ISC West 2013, "Mobile Devices and Identity and Access Control Applications."  The interactive workshop will provide attendees with a detailed understanding of new uses for mobile devices in storing and presenting secure digital identity credentials for digitally signing email and accessing secure networks as well as using NFC-enabled mobile devices for physical access.
