China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group Signs Strategic Partnership Agreements With China Wireless Technologies Limited and Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment Co., Ltd.

GUANGZHOU, China, March 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group Limited ("CMGE" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:CMGE), a leading mobile game company in China, today announced that it has signed strategic partnership agreements with China Wireless Technologies Limited (HKSE:2369) ("China Wireless"), China's leading provider of smartphones and integrated wireless data solutions, and with Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. ("Tianyu") to pre-install customized versions of the Company's Game Center application on smartphones produced by both companies.

The agreement with China Wireless provides for the pre-installation of up to 10 million customized versions of the Company's Game Center application on China Wireless's proprietary Coolpad smartphones in 2013. Under a separate agreement with Tianyu, the Company will pre-install customized versions of its Game Center application on Tianyu's proprietary K-Touch smartphones. The customized Game Center application will be the only official game center pre-installed on the smartphones manufactured under those brands. The Game Center application connects its users with the games developed and/or operated by CMGE.

In line with the Company's strategy, CMGE has focused substantial resources on further expanding its distribution channels to capture the significant growth opportunities emerging in smartphone games. Currently CMGE has entered into about 440 partnerships with handset manufacturers and design houses. These partners, which include several of the major Chinese brands, aid in distributing the Company's self-developed and exclusively licensed games through pre-installation as well as recommended downloads in applications stores. CMGE expects that the number of smartphones pre-installed with the Company's game center and selected games will exceed 60 million in 2013. As the distribution of the Company's games grows in scale, stable and sustainable user traffic acts as and facilitates the promotion of the Company's proprietary online games and decreases future promotional costs.
