WAIPAHU, Hawaii, April 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSI Renal, a leading provider of dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, announced today that it has opened the doors of the new DSI Waipahu Dialysis center in downtown Waipahu. The 24-station facility was blessed and began treating patients last week, and will host an Open House event on April 7 for area patients, physicians and the community.

DSI acquired the Waipahu facility from Fresenius in June 2012 while it was still under construction, pursuant to a Federal Trade Commission order to preserve competition in Hawaii's dialysis system. In March 2013, DSI completed construction of the new clinic, which features 24 in-center hemodialysis stations, a home peritoneal dialysis training/support program, and patient amenities including individual station flat-screen TVs and plenty of free, private parking. Located at 94-862 Kahuailani Street, the clinic is situated in the heart of downtown Waipahu behind the former Arakawa building, just one block from Filcom Center and Waipahu Depot Road.
