SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Infortrend Corporation (TPE:2495), today announced two new additions to its ZFS-based EonNAS 3000 Series, the 12-bay EonNAS 3310 and the 12-bay EonNAS 3510 in North America. The systems feature a brand new advanced hardware platform that offers powerful throughput performance, optimized file sharing capabilities, IP SAN applications, data storage and backup.

The new EonNAS systems utilize an upgraded platform and Intel CPU. The US edition of the EonNAS 3310 is powered by Intel Core i3 Dual-Core 3.3 GHz processor and 8GB DDR3 ECC RAM while the US edition of the EonNAS 3510's performance stands out with an Intel Xeon E3 quad-core 3.2GHz processor and 16GB DDR3 ECC RAM. Both models offer variant connectivity options, either 10GbE SFP+ connectivity or 8Gb Fibre Channel configuration to meet the diverse demands of small and medium-sized businesses. As for capacity, both systems offer a maximum of 480TB or total of 120 HDDs when attached with JBOD expansion enclosures (up to 9) via SAS.
The newly-announced solutions offer comprehensive protocol support, providing file sharing among workstations using different operating systems and enabling SMBs to serve file-based and block-based applications with a single system. Read and write performance is boosted by SSD Caching by allowing users to use up to 4 SSDs as full read/write cache to accelerate I/O processing. Resource utilization is enhanced by advanced features including data deduplication and compression. Data is protected by features such as snapshot technology, which offers space-efficient differential data copies to quickly roll back data or restore files in the event of data errors. The ZFS file system grants end-to-end data integrity.
