ALM Legal Intelligence Launches Law Firm Billing Rates Database

New Product for Benchmarking More Than 60,000 Billing Rates in U.S. Can be Searched by Attorney, Firm, Practice Area and More

NEW YORK, April 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM Legal Intelligence, which offers detailed business information and market data for and about the legal industry, has introduced a new Billing Rates Database product for obtaining insight into the billing rates of attorneys nationwide.

"Accurate data for attorney billing rates is hard to come by, so this product will be a powerful asset for law firm management teams to benchmark specific rates based on practice area and region," said Kevin Iredell, vice president of research and continuing education products at ALM. "This new offering provides valuable benchmarks for law firms to assess how their attorney billing rates compare to their competitors and to monitor the average rates within specific markets or areas of practice that may be of strategic interest to the firm."

The database contains billing records for more than 60,000 legal professionals and was built by the ALM research team by reviewing public records from 2006 to present. The database is searchable by attorney name, law firm, title, practice area, year graduated, range of billing rate and billing rate within a specific year. All search results can be downloaded into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for further analysis and reporting.

The product was designed primarily for use by senior administrative professionals inside law firms, such as heads of finance, marketing and operations. It will also be a useful tool for law firm partners and law firm librarians.

The product can be purchased with either a stand-alone annual subscription or as an add-on to a traditional ALM Legal Intelligence database subscription. For more information, please go to http://almlegalintel.com/ALI/billingrates.
