International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement Announces 2013 School and Exhibition

88th Annual Event Will Feature More Than 200 Classes and 50 Hands-On Workshops

NORMAN, Okla., April 18, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement (ISHM) will be held May 14-16, 2013 at the Cox Communications Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This will mark the 88th annual event which has been presented in affiliation with the University of Oklahoma since its founding in 1924, and which is acknowledged as one of the oldest and largest hydrocarbon measurement schools in the world.

For 2013, over 200 lecture classes and more than 50 hands-on workshops will be offered on a wide range of hydrocarbon gas and liquid measurement as well as flow control topics. In addition, extensive educational exhibits will be presented by leading manufacturers serving the measurement industry worldwide, and there will be unique opportunities for one-on-one learning experiences as well as outstanding networking opportunities.

The 2013 school will feature a broad gamut of instructor expertise, experience, and backgrounds to provide a pragmatic blend of technical training and industry insights. In addition to classes and workshops that will afford an outstanding learning experience, attendees will have the opportunity to personally meet with hydrocarbon industry measurement professionals who can offer practical advice and new ideas. Timely topics, including the measurement challenges associated with the burgeoning new shale plays such as Eagle Ford and Marcellus, will again be integral to the 2013 program.

The keynote speaker for this year's event will be Mr. Kyle Isakower, Vice President for Regulatory and Economic Policy at the American Petroleum Institute where he oversees API programs that review proposed environmental rules and develops industry standards for use domestically and abroad. Mr. Isakower has over 27 years of energy and environmental policy experience, has overseen API's climate policy development, and has served as an advocate on behalf of the oil and gas sector regarding waste management and air quality standards. He holds a Master of Science degree in Earth Science from Adelphi University and a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Geology from the University of Rochester. Mr. Isakower's presentation is entitled "An Overview of North American Energy: The Impact of U.S. Energy Policy."
