Call for Nominations Issued for 2013 NACD Directorship 100

Honorees to Be Recognized as Part of Annual Who's Who in Corporate Governance

WASHINGTON, April 24, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- To help advance its mission of promoting exemplary board leadership, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) is seeking nominations for the 2013 NACD Directorship 100, an annual compilation of the most influential leaders in the boardroom and in corporate governance. This year's honorees will be recognized during a black-tie gala on Dec. 3 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

Now in its seventh year, the NACD Directorship 100 annually recognizes directors and governance experts across a range of industries and institutions who lead through innovation, courage, integrity, and commitment. In addition to the NACD Directorship 100, NACD also presents three distinct honors: NACD B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award, NACD Directors of the Year, and NACD Corporate Governance Hall of Fame.

The selection process begins with an open nomination for candidates. Honorees are then selected by an NACD editorial advisory committee and the association's leadership team. To nominate a deserving director or leader, visit www.NACDonline.org/Directorship100/Nominations.cfm. Nominations close on May 3.

Last year's NACD Directorship 100 honorees included Andrew J. McKenna Sr., chairman, McDonald's; Suzanne Nora Johnson, director, Pfizer; Samuel J. Palmisano, chairman, IBM; Carolyn Berger, justice, Delaware Supreme Court; Richard Cordray, director, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; and Carl C. Icahn, chairman, Icahn Enterprises.

"The responsibilities of corporate directors grow in complexity and in number each year, and it's up to capable leaders in the boardroom and governance community to ensure organizations are performing at high levels through vigorous oversight," said Ken Daly, president and CEO of NACD.
