FULLERTON, Calif., April 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- To support Fullerton special education programs, Fullerton Cares will present $18,000 to the Fullerton School District and will give five iPads directly to Commonwealth Elementary School representatives present at the school board meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 beginning at 6 p.m. at the District Administration Board Room, 1401 W. Valencia Drive in Fullerton.

Five refurbished iPads. A useful communication tool for those with autism, iPads can provide ways for students to express themselves through words and images. Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) will present Fullerton Cares with five iPads, which will then be given to Commonwealth Elementary School.
- Fullerton Girl Scout Troop 2399 will donate 19 Autism Speaks Build-A-Bears to Fullerton Cares. 19 troop members built the bears on April 21, 2013 in support of autism. Proceeds of each bear created benefits Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism advocacy organization. Fullerton Cares will donate the bears to local children with autism.
Donated funds were raised during the recent Fullerton Cares Mardi Gras for Autism, held on February 9, 2013, that hosted 2,000 people and raised a net of $8,000, and from the sold-out Fullerton Cares 'Heroes Comedy Show for Autism with Brad Williams and Friends,' held April 3, 2013, that hosted 600 attendees and raised a net of $20,000.
