C. Edward Young Joins Jviation as Senior Program Manager


DENVER, April 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jviation, Inc., an aviation-focused planning, engineering and construction management firm, has hired C. Edward Young as a Senior Program Manager based in Overland Park, Kansas. Young will be responsible for expanding Jviation's client base in the central region of the United States.

Previously with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), Young served as Aviation Director since 2005 and elevated the Kansas Aviation Program to a national leadership level. In his role as State Aviation Director, he worked to increase public awareness of the aviation industry and strengthen the industry's economic benefits. Under Young's leadership, the KDOT Aviation Division was recognized with a number of awards, including the American Council of Consulting Engineers (ACEC) Kansas award (both in 2011 and 2012); the ACEC National Honors Award (2012); the National Association of State Aviation Officials' (NASAO) Most Innovative Award (2012) for the Google Earth based Kansas Airspace Awareness Tool; the NASAO Center for Aviation Research and Education's most outstanding state aviation program (2012); three NASAO best practices awards; and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials President Award in Aviation (2012).

Prior to KDOT, Young served as a city and county administrator and a county counselor in Kansas and Missouri. His communities received National Association of Counties Awards and a 5-Star Missouri Community Betterment Award. He teaches finance, conflict resolution, and law for Webster University and Baker University and airport law for top-five aeronautical university, Kansas State University. He is also a certified firefighter, peace officer, mediator and a licensed attorney in Kansas. He holds a commercial pilot's license and is a Certified Flight Instructor.
