Company Also Co-Sponsors Live Surgery With Advanced Robotic Ultrasound
Technology During Meeting

PEABODY, Mass., 2013-05-01 17:01 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), enabling the world's medical imaging and
aviation security technology, announced today that it will showcase its full
suite of ultrasound imaging solutions, which offer clinicians a potentially
faster and easier way to maximize ultrasound performance in urology and renal
imaging, at the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting, May 4-8,
in San Diego. Specifically, the Company will highlight the industry-leading BK
Medical-branded Flex Focus(tm) 800 and 500 ultrasound systems, with the
groundbreaking Quantum Technology(tm). In addition, the Company will showcase
the
Ultrasonix-branded SonixTablet(tm) and SonixTouch(r) systems.

Analogic Ultrasound will also co-sponsor a live surgery performed by James R.
Porter, M.D., of Swedish Medical Center, on Wednesday, May 8, during the AUA
Annual Meeting. Dr. Porter will perform a robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy
utilizing the Flex Focus 800 system for advanced robotic ultrasound guidance.

'The Flex Focus ultrasound system is the gold standard for ultrasound imaging,
for both 2D and color Doppler, during robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy,'
said Dr. Porter. 'One of the major advantages of the ProART(tm) robotic
transducer
is that the surgeon no longer needs to rely on an assistant for ultrasound
imaging. Another is that imaging capabilities and flexibility are greatly
improved. If an organization is serious about and planning on a high volume of
robotic-assisted surgeries, investing in this technology is the right move.'

The Flex Focus 800 is a premium performance, highly efficient system
incorporating Quantum Technology and compatible with all of the BK
Medical-branded transducers. The system is ideally suited for surgery,
including robotic-assisted surgery, high-end urology, and general imaging. The
Flex Focus 500 is the high-end system in Analogic's ultrasound product
offerings, which also features Quantum Technology. This portable system is
powerful and well suited for a busy practice utilizing ultrasound for urology
and general imaging needs.

Analogic Ultrasound's Quantum Technology incorporates unique Vector Flow
Imaging* (VFI) mode, enabling angle independent visualization of blood flow,
with sensitive color Doppler and spatial resolution. Both the Flex Focus 500
and 800 ultrasound systems have VFI as an option. Key benefits also include
tissue harmonic imaging for difficult-to-image patients, and the ultrasound
systems are available with a comprehensive range of specialized transducers
that assist in addressing the clinical challenges of urologic and general
imaging procedures.

Analogic Ultrasound also offers the premium performance BK Medical Pro Focus
UltraView 800 ultrasound system, with Quantum Technology and VFI option, that
is compatible with all of the BK Medical-branded transducers and well suited
for surgery, including robotic-assisted surgery, high-end urology, and general
imaging. The UltraView 800 system also has contrast imaging capabilities** as a
purchasable option. The Flex Focus 400 ultrasound system, a mid-range urology
system for community hospitals and larger clinical practices, is also
available.

'Analogic is dedicated to providing leading-edge ultrasound solutions to the
urology community,' said Lars Shaw, vice president of global marketing. 'In
addition to our premium performance systems, we will also be showing our
Ultrasonix-branded SonixTouch and SonixTablet touch screen ultrasound systems,
which offer innovation and value for busy private clinics and offices.'

The SonixTouch and SonixTablet ultrasound systems feature a customizable touch
screen that only displays the controls relevant to the procedure at hand. The
SonixTouch is a cart-based system with a small footprint. The SonixTablet is a
compact ultrasound system with a large 19' high-resolution touch screen that
can be placed on any flat surface, mounted to a wall, or placed on a cart. Both
systems include Internet connectivity allowing immediate remote service if
necessary.

Analogic's BK Medical and Ultrasonix branded suite of ultrasound solutions will
be featured in booth #1933 during the AUA Annual Meeting. To view the live
robotic partial nephrectomy performed by Dr. Porter, please visit the Plenary
Room in Hall A in the San Diego Convention Center on Wednesday, May 8, from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
