The True Life Companies Names Brock Chapman Managing Director for Rocky Mountain Region

Real Estate Investment and Management Firm Adds Experienced Land Acquisition and Development Professional to Its Colorado Team

SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwired - May 2, 2013) - The True Life Companies (TTLC), a San Ramon-based real estate investment firm with expertise in the acquisition, planning, development and management of well-positioned land, has named Brock Chapman Managing Director of its Rocky Mountain Region. Chapman will be a key member of the TTLC team, working closely with the company's recently appointed Principal of Capital Markets, Rhett Trees, to identify, evaluate and structure property acquisitions in the fast-growing Rocky Mountain metropolitan areas.

"Brock is a valuable addition to our management team," stated Scott Clark, Chief Executive Officer of TTLC. "His knowledge and expertise will ensure that TTLC is at the forefront of Denver's continuing expansion and economic prosperity, which is being propelled by an influx of capital investors. Our success depends on our ability to find opportunities and put together deals that take maximum advantage of those opportunities. Brock has what it takes to make that happen."

Chapman's career spans 23 years and covers a range of disciplines in the real estate industry, providing a broad based management background that will help propel the Rocky Mountain operation forward. Chapman's expertise has been demonstrated in land acquisitions, lot program sales, residential community planning and entitlement approvals, permitting, due diligence, project feasibility, and land development. He is also well-versed in government affairs and handling complex negotiations as evidenced by his work most recently as U.S. Director of Land Acquisition and Development with SunEdison.

Before joining TTLC, Chapman was Principal of B.R. Chapman Company, an Englewood, Colorado firm providing land acquisition and project development consulting services to clients for projects located across the United States and the Caribbean. Prior to that, at Denver-based SunEdison, he created and led the eight-member Land Acquisitions & Development Department. In that role, he was responsible for sourcing and securing approximately 11,000 acres for projects located across North America and the Caribbean.

Chapman began his career in the residential real estate industry, first as Planning and Entitlements Manager for Village Homes of Colorado and then as Senior Project Manager for KB Home. In 2000, he made the transition into land acquisition and development as Company Vice President and Subsidiary Division President with St. Charles Investment Company in Englewood.

Chapman earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and an MBA from Regis University in Denver.

"Brock has an outstanding record of success that is a perfect fit with our revolutionary go-to-market strategy and our nimble organization," said CEO Scott Clark. "Because of the breadth and diversity of his background, he will be able to work closely with each of our vertically integrated in-house teams: a feasibility team addressing projects via detailed due diligence and underwriting; our land acquisition team pursuing off-market opportunities; and our capital markets team developing the underlying foundation to create a stable capital source for our growth."

Over the past several months, TTLC has been assembling their land acquisition and capital markets teams to take advantage of today's real estate market. They have been building out a land portfolio throughout California, Arizona and Colorado, seeking parcels that provide the ability to entitle and construct horizontal infrastructure and supply finished lots to homebuilders. Their current portfolio includes several thousand acres and they are actively pursuing land opportunities that include developable lots and tracts of raw land, a commodity in high demand among merchant builders. In addition, TTLC is also involved in resort and recreational master-planned communities. A reflection of this expertise is the recent purchase of Pine Canyon, a luxury master-planned community and private golf club in Flagstaff, Arizona.
