This year marks GlobalMed's seventh exhibit at the ATA conference, the premier forum in the telemedicine, telehealth and mHealth space. The conference draws thousands of attendees each year, including telemedicine professionals, institutional providers, government agencies and other healthcare stakeholders. It is also one of the fastest-growing meetings in the world, as recognized by the magazine Trade Show Executive.

"We are excited to present our newest innovations in healthcare technology at this year's ATA meeting. Now, like never before, healthcare is embracing the important role of technology in delivering unmatched quality care at lower costs. Our solutions are designed from start to finish to enable groundbreaking care from anywhere in the world, improving both patient and provider satisfaction," stated Joel E. Barthelemy, GlobalMed Founder and Managing Director and ATA industry chair for 2012.

This year, GlobalMed will be presenting several new solutions, including the LiteExam™, an all-in-one small-footprint clinical station that is ideal for pathways such as telestroke, teledermatology and telemental health. Alongside its stations, GlobalMed will also be demonstrating its new, web-based telestroke solution in connection with its partnership with Krixi Corp., as well as EasyShare®, GlobalMed's integrated, web-based, secure video-conferencing solution.

The exhibit will also feature live presentations involving veteran physicians from a variety of backgrounds. "This year, we have invited seasoned physicians to share the latest in the application of telemedicine in a school setting, at the workplace, on an offshore oil platform, and inside a department of corrections facility. We encourage anyone interested in learning how we can deliver quality healthcare—regardless of location—to attend these eye-opening demonstrations," Barthelemy said.

Since 2002, GlobalMed has been designing innovative telemedicine solutions that have made quality healthcare more accessible to rural communities both inside the United States and elsewhere. This year, GlobalMed partnered with several organizations, including the International Virtual e-Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit organization developed in the Republic of Kosova; and the International Trust Fund Enhancing Human Security to bring telemedicine to residents on Cape Verde, an island chain off the coast of Western Africa.

Also this year, GlobalMed's equipment enabled specialists in Sao Paolo, Brazil, to help treat survivors of the Brazilian nightclub fire that occurred in January. The Transportable Exam Station™ (a portable, carry-on sized telemedicine platform) connected Santa Maria hospital physicians with specialists at the Albert Einstein Medical Center located 600 miles away and with others around the world to provide the critical care patients needed as a result of injuries sustained in the fire.

GlobalMed has also assisted the Department of Veterans Affairs in its mission to utilize telemedicine to provide quality healthcare access to the nation's veterans. In 2010, GlobalMed's integrated solutions were chosen by the VA to facilitate deployment of multi-faceted telemedicine systems throughout its Medical Centers, Community Based Outpatient Clinics, and Community Living Centers.
