Kognitio, DMG Federal Partner to Deliver Secure, Cloud-Based Big Data Analytics to Federal Government Agencies

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., May 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kognitio, driving the convergence of Big Data, in-memory analytics and cloud computing, and DMG Federal, providing quality Information Technology and Business Intelligence services and solutions to the federal government and commercial clients since 1995, today announced an agreement, under which the two companies will work together to deliver secure, cloud-based data analytics to federal government and other public sector agencies.

DMG Federal's FISMA-compliant Cloud Framework, Federal IQ, is available through its GSA schedule and other contract vehicles. Federal IQ enables public service agencies to perform in-depth analytics of vast amounts of data in a secure manner, at a low cost that saves significant amounts of taxpayer money over previously implemented solutions.

The Kognitio-DMG Federal alliance will help agencies achieve a key goal of the Obama Administration's 25-point plan to restructure and reform government information technology, issued in 2010. The joint offering meets the "cloud first" initiative proposed by the Administration; in a separate report, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) noted that "an estimated $20 billion of the federal government's $80 billion in annual IT spending is a potential target for migration to cloud computing solutions."

At the same time, Kognitio and DMG Federal are delivering a solution to the government marketplace that meets the high-end security requirements of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), as well as the mid-tier requirements of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).

"As recent events have indicated, government agencies are under greater pressure than ever to deliver a consistently high level of service to their constituents, while controlling or even reducing their costs," said Keith Boyer, DMG Federal's chief operating officer.

"The Federal IQ Cloud Framework, with Kognitio at its core, will enable these agencies to accelerate the analysis of vast amounts of data to support mission-critical decisions, even as they demonstrate their compliance with mandates to control expenditures."

Kognitio is the fastest, most compliant and cost-effective analytical platform on the market today, leveraging its in-memory, massively parallel processing (MPP) structure to deliver answers to complex queries in a fraction of the time required by other solutions. Boyer noted Kognitio was a natural choice for the Federal IQ Cloud Framework, citing its ability to plug and play in any existing environment containing industry-standard hardware, as well as software with ANSI SQL, OBDC, or JDBC connectors. He also cited its ease of deployment and ability to seamlessly integrate with other applications.

"DMG Federal is an acknowledged leader in delivering IT solutions to government agencies; it only chooses to work with products that have been proven to work, and that couple both performance and value," said Steve Millard, Kognitio chief executive officer. "Working together, Kognitio and DMG Federal will help agencies gain the insight they need to do their job better, maximizing performance while utilizing a cloud environment to minimize their costs."

Kognitio and DMG will be hosting a web seminar on Thursday, June 20th at 11am EDT, where the security of Federal IQ, coupled with the analytic power of Kognitio and Birst, will be demonstrated. The webinar is free to attendees; registration is available at http://bit.ly/13fkhA7.

Companies interested in downloading a free version of the Kognitio Analytical Platform can do so at http://bit.ly/12eDvYM. The software enables firms to conduct in-memory analytics on up to 128 gigabytes of data with no restrictions on either time or functionality.
