ChinaCache's First Quarter 2013 China Internet Report Shows Average Internet Speeds in China Increase 13.5% Quarter-Over-Quarter to 2.94 Mb/s


BEIJING, May 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. ("ChinaCache" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:CCIH), the leading total solutions provider of Internet content and application delivery services in China, released its First Quarter 2013 China Internet Report. According to the report, in the first quarter of 2013, average Internet connection speeds in China increased 13.5% to 2.94 Mb/s from 2.59 Mb/s in the fourth quarter of 2012. According to the report, nearly half of China's Internet population had bandwidth access above 2Mb/s in the first quarter of 2013 and users in Shanghai continued to enjoy the country's fastest access, with an average connection speed of 4.32 Mb/s.

Among China's three major carriers, China Telecom remained the fastest, at 3.03 Mb/s, followed by China Mobile's 2.85 Mb/s and China Unicom's 2.81 Mb/s, in the first quarter of 2013. China Unicom had the highest quarter-over-quarter increase in average connection speeds, at 22%.
