Hispanic Chamber Leaders Benefit From USHCC Foundation "Chamber Training Institute" Program in Phoenix, Arizona

WASHINGTON, May 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation, in partnership with Wells Fargo and the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business, hosted the Chamber Training Institute in Phoenix, Arizona this week. Using state of the art video technology, the training was live-streamed to chamber leaders in St. Louis, Missouri who could not be in attendance. Participants who completed the USHCC Foundation program - focused on project management and marketing for expanding business membership - received a certificate from the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza School of Business.

Lectures from professors and industry experts offered attendees tools to develop best practices on how to increase business membership in their local chambers. Participants represented dozens of chambers from across the country. The USHCC Foundation Chamber Training Institute was created to help provide unique educational opportunities to local chambers and foster the growth and development of Hispanic business leaders and entrepreneurs.

In addition to the training, the USHCC Foundation was proud to partner with Wells Fargo and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in celebrating Small Business Appreciation Month by hosting a special reception and workshop on financing options for businesses that included business owners, community leaders and lenders.

"The Chamber Training Institute is a valuable program created to strengthen and develop our local chambers," Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the USHCC expressed. "The best practices acquired at the training assist our local leaders in Arizona and across the country in their efforts to increase membership and deepen their knowledge on how to effectively run their chambers. The USHCC is committed to ensuring our continued support for the fastest growing segment of America's entrepreneurs – Hispanic business owners."

"Wells Fargo is pleased to bring the USHCC Foundation Chamber Training Institute to Phoenix," said Wells Fargo Director of National Partnerships Georgette Dixon. "At Wells Fargo we are committed to helping business owners sustain and grow their business. We are thrilled to once again collaborate with the USHCC to provide local chamber leaders across the country with opportunities to sharpen their skills, enhance their leadership and better understand how to manage their finances more effectively."
