Collaboratev Names Electric Vehicle Industry Veteran Jason Wolf as CEO

SAN FRANCISCO, June 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Collaboratev LLC., announced today it has appointed Collaboratev Co-Founder and long-time EV industry veteran, Jason Wolf, as its first CEO.

Wolf, most recently Vice President of North America for Better Place, has been in the EV industry for five years. In this role, he built partnerships with automotive OEM's, federal and state governments, public agencies, utilities and others. As CEO, Mr. Wolf is responsible for evolving Collaboratev into an independent EV industry coalition focused on improving the EV driver experience.

"Collaboratev is the next step in the maturation of the EV industry," said Jason Wolf, CEO of Collaboratev. "I am excited to guide its path to success and build an industry-wide solution for charging network interoperability. This open, standards-based solution gives charging operators a platform to provide an enhanced and simplified experience for EV drivers, helping grow the industry overall."

Collaboratev is an independent roaming and transaction processing company that will:

  1. Welcome all charging operators and help them deliver a network that all EV drivers can use
  2. Capture charging data and make it available to all industry stakeholders
  3. Authenticate and authorize roaming drivers for interoperability and transfer data to host networks
  4. Aggregate all roaming transactions and provide efficient financial reconciliation
  5. Leverage open standards set by a broad industry working group

The nation's two largest EVSE providers, ECOtality (Nasdaq:ECTY) and ChargePoint, who operate more than 15,000 charging spots across North America and Canada, have already signed on as the first affiliates with Collaboratev.

"With in-depth knowledge of the EV industry and acute business acumen, Jason is a natural fit to lead Collaboratev," said Pat Romano, president and CEO from ChargePoint Inc. "The potential for Collaboratev is enormous, as EV drivers want seamless interoperability across multiple networks."

"We are excited to have Jason lead Collaboratev," commented Ravi Brar CEO of ECOtality. "We are seeing tremendous year over year growth in EV sales and significant network expansion by many service providers. Certain segments of our network have experienced a 3x growth in usage this year. We are confident that Collaboratev will provide a significant boost to adoption of the rapidly growing commercial charging infrastructure nationwide."

Previously, Wolf held senior executive roles in the software industry, including industry leader SAP. Wolf has a BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Tel-Aviv, and an MBA from San Jose State University.
