MENLO PARK, Calif., June 21, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IncellDx announced today that it has reached an agreement to offer its proprietary laboratory test for the detection of oncogenic HPV E6, E7 mRNA in India. The agreement with GeneCell Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. of New Delhi increases IncellDx's presence in the Indian subcontinental region, the company said.
This test is based upon IncellDx's advanced molecular diagnostic technology for quantifying specific biomarkers that have been associated with an increased risk of progression to cervical cancer, and will serve as a significant resource to physicians and hospitals managing diseases associated with women's health. CureHealth Diagnostics, GeneCell's laboratory partner, will be the first reference laboratory in India to offer this test.
Measuring the potential oncogenic activity of the human papillomavirus (HPV) in infected cervical cells, this novel test functions by detecting and quantifying the expression of viral oncogenes responsible for triggering progression to cervical cancer, resulting in a higher specificity that existing tests lack.
