Saint Agnes Hospital Appoints New Chief of Emergency Department


EMERYVILLE, Calif., July 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Saint Agnes Hospital has named Pascal G. Crosley, D.O. as chief of the hospital's department of emergency medicine (ED). A native of Maryland and son of a Baltimore City physician, Dr. Crosley is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and also serves as vice president of practice development for CEP America, one of the nation's largest and most experienced providers of acute care management solutions and a partner to the hospital. Dr. Crosley will oversee Saint Agnes' main emergency department as well as its specialty tracks of urgent care, chest pain, pediatric and the implementation of CEP America's Rapid Medical Evaluation (RME)® process.

Leading one of Baltimore's busiest ED's, Dr. Crosley's responsibilities will encompass identifying areas for continually improving care, including reducing wait times, and making the discharge to home transition more smooth. Dr. Crosley will also handle staffing and physician leadership training and development.

Dr. Crosley earned his bachelor of science from Towson University in biological sciences and a medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Crosley is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and a former Board member of the Georgia College of Emergency Physicians (GCEP). He previously held the position of chair of the Georgia Emergency Medicine Political Action Committee (GEMPAC).

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Saint Agnes Hospital has provided emergency medicine and urgent care for 50-plus years. Working closely with emergency services from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County and Baltimore Washington International Airport, the hospital serves more than 80,000 patients a year.

In 1981, Saint Agnes established the first Chest Pain ED in the world. Since then, the hospital's model has been adopted worldwide as the new standard in emergency heart care. In 2012, Saint Agnes announced the expansion of its Chest Pain ED, which consumes 3,800 square feet of space and features seven patient care suites, each equipped with technology to monitor urgent care patients who are experiencing chest pain, as well as those that may require life-saving rapid response treatment.
