Skanska signs new contract for the renovation of the United Nations in New York worth USD 65 M, about SEK 425 M


Skanska has signed a new contract to renovate the General Assembly hall in the
United Nations Headquarters in New York. The contract value is USD 65 M, about
SEK 425 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building for
the second quarter of 2013.
Skanska will replace and upgrade all mechanical and electrical equipment and
control systems, remove all hazardous materials from the headquarters,
reconfigure spaces for new uses, restore existing iconic room materials and
furniture to like-new condition and install state of the art conferencing
systems.

Construction work started in June 2013 and will be completed in August 2014.

As announced in 2007, Skanska was selected by the United Nations to serve as the
construction manager for the UN’s Capital Master Plan (CMP) for renovation and
upgrading of the headquarters in New York City.
