'New Balda' wins orders from prominent customers

Bad Oeynhausen, 10 July 2013 - The Balda Group, a provider of high-quality
plastics solutions, today announced that following its strategic
repositioning it has won orders from prominent customers. In the Balda
Technical segment, for instance, the partnership with a premium-segment US
audio company was expanded considerably. In addition, an innovative
manufacturing technology is being used for the first time in production at
the Anaheim, California, plant thanks to technology transfer from Germany
to the United States. This involves integrating the surface decoration
directly into the production process to create a high-quality feel for the
product.
The Balda Medical segment is also increasingly benefiting from the
strategic opportunities provided by the acquisition at the end of 2012 of
US-based plastics companies Balda C. Brewer and Balda HK Plastics. Balda
Medical has received its first requests from Balda customers in Europe who
wish to manufacture in the United States. The United States is the world's
largest market for medical technology products. Balda has medical
production facilities abroad in Anaheim, Ontario and Oceanside, all located
in California in a 'medical valley.'
Balda Medical has also attracted another international customer with
headquarters in Germany. Balda will manufacture cuvettes for this prominent
manufacturer of medical technology equipment.
Based on the current order situation and the Group's current portfolio,
i.e. excluding any further acquisitions, the Management Board expects to
report consolidated sales of between EUR 85 and 90 million and an EBITDA
margin (EBITDA as a percentage of sales) in the high single-digit range for
the 2013/2014 financial year (reporting date: 30 June). Both operating
segments are expected to meet the target EBITDA margin of 15% before
intra-Group charges.

Both US-based companies have contributed positively to Group profit since

which has just begun, they will again contribute substantially to our
planned revenue growth and to reinforcing the positive earnings performance
of the Balda Group.'
