New Sightlines Website Makes Available Knowledge Library of Higher Ed Facilities Investments

New Public Site Completes First Phase of Company's Strategy to Reshape Online Presence, Next Phase to Focus on Development of New Secure Member Portal

GUILFORD, Conn., July 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sightlines, a leader in helping academic institutions better manage their facilities and capital investment strategies, today announced the launch of a new public website that features access to operating and capital profiles and trends for higher education from the company's knowledge archive of articles, presentations and research.

The new site, www.sightlines.com, is designed to help facilities executives at colleges, universities and other educational institutions gain a deeper understanding of how they can bridge the operational requirements of financial management and facilities management.

"In creating this site, our goal was not to simply build a digital brochure," said David Kadamus, president and chief executive officer of Sightlines. "We set out to create a resource for institutional and facilities leaders that would draw from our unique vantage point and perspective gained from our work at some 400 campuses. We believe that our work and the findings of our database will be key to help shape higher education facilities strategies for the future."

The site includes an innovative section – "Insights " – that provides industry trends, blogs on key facility policy and management issues, and other content. The knowledge library includes recorded webinars, presentations, articles and various research pieces that deliver unparalleled insight into current trends and best practices in the higher education facilities management industry.

Sightlines works with approximately 400 academic campuses – approximately 17 percent of the four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. – to provide a holistic approach to defining capital investment needs and an independent view of campus facilities operating performance versus peer institutions.

"In addition to obtaining access to our knowledge library, visitors to our new site can also discover facilities management solutions we have found across the country to be most effective," said Kadamus. "There's also a special section for Benchmarking & Analysis, where they can learn more about Sightlines' analytical methods and our comprehensive database for strategic benchmarking."

According to Kadamus, the launch of the new public-facing website is the first phase in a two-phased initiative to overhaul the company's online presence. Sightlines is now working on the development of a new member portal, which will be a secure online platform accessible only to Sightlines members, through which campus facilities executives will be able to access a wide range of data regarding their operational and capital performance, to compare that data versus other peer institutions, and to provide new predictive tools that identify capital investment risk, operational opportunities, and the impacts of the changing campus on facility costs. The portal is scheduled for launch in early-2014.
