Northwest Community Hospital Becomes Latest Illinois Facility to Partner With CEP America

EMERYVILLE, Calif., July 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On July 15, Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois became the latest hospital emergency department (ED) to partner with CEP America, one of the nation's largest providers of acute care management solutions. Northwest Community is the fourth health system in the state of Illinois to collaborate with CEP America across acute care settings.

"We are excited to welcome Northwest Community Hospital to our growing list of partner facilities in Illinois," said Matthew Stilson, MD, CEP America's Vice President of Practice Development based in Illinois. "CEP America looks forward to providing efficient and high quality care to the residents of Chicago's northwest suburbs."

A leader in acute care services management, CEP America has worked over the last thirty-five years to develop processes and initiatives to better integrate hospital departments and improve the overall patient experience. CEP America's client hospitals that see over 72,000 patients a year in the ED annually report a time-to-provider that is 16 minutes less than the national average. CEP America has also set a target for all their ED partners to improve a patient's time to disposition, thereby reducing the amount of time a patient spends in the ED.

Since 2009, CEP America has managed the ED and Immediate Care Centers for Sherman Health in and around Elgin and the ED at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn. Most recently, Savoy Brummer, MD, CEP America's ED Medical Director at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, received the ED Medical Director of the Year Award from Blue Jay Consulting, the Emergency Medicine Foundation, and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
