RelayRides Drives Business Forward With Domo

Domo Helps Nation's Largest Peer-to-Peer Car-Sharing Service Shift Into Gear as Data-Driven Organization

SILICON SLOPES, UT--(Marketwired - July 16, 2013) - RelayRides, the nation's largest peer-to-peer car-sharing service, has implemented Domo to make better sense of its data and drive critical business decisions. Domo, which is redefining the business intelligence (BI) market, allows RelayRides to analyze information in real time, determine new product features and secure more customers.

Before switching to Domo, RelayRides had difficulty understanding and optimizing its data. Information lived in too many systems and wasn't delivered in real time. In addition, manual reporting was slow and tedious. Since implementing Domo's executive management platform, RelayRides has gained unprecedented control over its marketing, product and customer data. This change has enabled the company to make better, faster and more data-driven business decisions.

"With all our data brought together in Domo, it's much easier to understand when things are working, or when something is wrong," says Andrew Mok, director of business intelligence at RelayRides. "We can act on that information very quickly and identify the issues because our data is delivered to us in an automated, easily consumable way."

The RelayRides management team now relies on insights provided by Domo to determine which product features they should be working on next, or to uncover potential problems such as the most porous parts of the conversion funnel. "Data is informing all sorts of decisions," says Mok. "It's a huge part of our operating culture."

RelayRides has centralized data from multiple sources, including its back-end computing platform, several advertising platforms and its customer service system in Domo. The integration with Domo was seamless and hassle-free. "Domo took care of the connections for all the different data sources," says Mok. "Domo had already figured out how to pull the data in and make it all work. It was automatic."

The fact that RelayRides has offices in different geographies across the country made it even more imperative to have a single repository for its data. "There is always some miscommunication about which data source to use or which metric is the right one," explains Mok. "But when we have our information in one place, everyone is working off the same data and can access it very easily."

Data is now front-and-center, guiding strategic decisions the company makes. "Domo makes us more accountable as an organization because the data is always out there, and everyone is looking at it and talking about it," says Mok. "When information is not out there, it's hard to hold people accountable, because they don't know what they don't know."

Domo's easy-to-use interface and graphically rich design are also very appealing to RelayRides. "The design of the platform is fantastic and the Domo product itself is quite beautiful," says Mok, who believes Domo is the most intuitive and best looking BI platform he has ever encountered. "For some reason, the BI industry is full of clunky systems and visualizations that don't look so great. We never have that issue with Domo."

About Domo

Domo is a cloud-based executive management platform that gives users direct, real-time access to all the business information they care about, all in one place.

The company was conceived as Josh James, Omniture CEO, saw how access to real-time data could help online marketers make better and more profitable decisions. He was frustrated that he couldn't have that same access to data about his own business. The data he wanted was trapped in multiple systems, databases, spreadsheets and presentations.

James knew where the data lived, but in order to get to it, he had to ask someone else for it. Once he got the data, it was either out-of-date or in so many formats that it was impossible to make sense of it all.

With more than $125 million in funding, Domo is backed by an all-star list of angels and investors including Benchmark, GGV Capital, IVP, Greylock Partners, Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, Hummer Winblad, WPP, plus the who's who of SaaS and Internet technology.

Domo's founding team consists of some of the most sought after talent in the industry with experience that includes Amazon, American Express, Ancestry.com, eBay, Endeca, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, MLB.com, Omniture, salesforce.com and SAP.
