Neonode Lands PC Design Win With Tier One PC OEM

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Neonode Inc., (Nasdaq:NEON), the optical touch technology company, today announces that it has a design win with a premier global PC manufacturer. The project aims to integrate Neonode's Multisensing® touch solution into the OEM's coming PC devices.

Neonode also has ongoing projects and discussions with other Tier One PC OEMs, about integrating its Multisensing technology into future PC products. In addition Neonode is developing reference PC platforms together with Tier One Semiconductor OEM's.

Neonode's compelling touch solutions offer outstanding price-performance, proven manufacturing simplicity and scalability, and a rich roadmap of patented value-added applications. Neonode is working together with Microsoft and the OEM's to make their products Windows 8 certified parallel to the development of the actual products.

"Not only will our solutions drive PC touchscreen bill-of-materials down into the single digits, but they will enable OEMs to add features like proximity sensing, while substantially reducing overall system costs, in areas such as keyboards and track-pads. Most importantly, Neonode's touch technology is genuinely proven, with near-perfect yields and zero returns as evident by over 15M solutions delivered together with Texas Instruments to date," says Thomas Eriksson, CEO of Neonode.

According to the Neonode definition a design win occurs when a customer or partner starts a product or platform development project involving Neonode's technology. This event normally includes project start and signing of a statement of work or similar. Neonode only releases news of design wins that are considered to be potentially material. Even if the customer or partner always has the intention to actually launch a commercial product or product line in high volume, there is no guarantee that this will be the case. Besides the touch solution, a commercial product involves many other components and systems that effects the customer's development process.
