Spillman's communication software solutions on display in Anaheim

Leader in public safety software to host product demos at the APCO Conference and Expo

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spillman Technologies will be hosting custom demonstrations of its integrated computer-aided dispatch (CAD), records management (RMS), and mobile communication software, along with more than 40 other modules at next week's Association of Public-Safety Communication Officials' (APCO) Annual Conference and Expo in Anaheim, Calif.

Visitors of booth 125 can learn how Spillman's tightly integrated products provide call takers and dispatchers with real-time data management tools designed for active connectivity to field personnel. Demonstrations will include Spillman's CAD features like automated vehicle location (AVL), the ability to customize screen preferences based on user, and how instant access to agency records help dispatch locations work more efficiently. Attendees can also learn how multi-jurisdictional and multiple-discipline capabilities from Spillman help communities build consolidated records and dispatch centers while preserving agency autonomy.

Demonstrations will also showcase how features in Spillman's mobile suite of software, including voiceless dispatching, mapping, and turn-by-turn navigation, can help personnel work more safely and efficiently in the field. With access to an agency's critical information from patrol-mounted laptops, field personnel can search for names, vehicles, and more, and see alerts and warnings on potentially dangerous individuals. APCO attendees can also see the Spillman Touch module in action, which provides call updates directly and immediately from the dispatch office to field personnel on an iPhone, Android phone, iPad, or other tablet. Field agents can also search for names, vehicles, properties, and incident records and see related alerts and warnings in situations where desktop or laptop computers aren't accessible.

APCO International is the world's largest organization of public safety communications professionals. It serves the needs of public safety communications practitioners worldwide - and the welfare of the general public as a whole – by providing complete expertise, professional development, technical assistance, advocacy and outreach. The 79th annual conference, which starts Sunday, Aug. 18 and ends Wednesday, Aug. 21, is designed to provide agency decision-makers with the opportunity to network, receive education on the most pressing public safety communication topics of the day, and view vendor exhibitions.
