Bourbon Street NFL Season Opener With a Heart: Former Rams Mike Lansford, Leroy Irvin and Swipe4TheKids Give Back - 9/8

FULLERTON, Calif., Sept. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Former NFL Rams Mike Lansford and Leroy Irvin will join social enterprise Swipe4TheKids at Bourbon Street Bar and Grill to donate $400 to charity on the first day of the NFL season, Sunday, September 8, during halftime of the Rams game, anticipated around 2:30 p.m., at the California Cajun restaurant Bourbon Street Bar and Grill, 110 E. Commonwealth Ave. in Fullerton.

Lansford, an O.C. Hall of Famer who finished with the NFL as the Rams all-time leading scorer, Rams two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Irvin, and Michelle de Guzman, COO of Swipe4TheKids, will present $400 to Bourbon Street co-owner and founder of Fullerton Cares Autism Foundation Larry Houser, in recognition of the funds raised through the Swipe4TheKids program, offered exclusively in Fullerton at Bourbon Street.

Not just for the NFL season kickoff but available every day at Bourbon Street, a percentage of each dollar spent directly benefits youth in the community through the Swipe4TheKids innovative credit card processing service, donating back to local charities with each swipe, with no additional costs to the customer or merchant.

The only location in Fullerton offering this service, Bourbon Street uses Swipe4TheKids to process credit cards, and funds raised go to Fullerton Cares in order to further autism programs throughout Fullerton. Similar Swipe4TheKids programs are offered throughout the United States including one recently featured in a Fox News affiliate segment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKYb1m8ylQU&feature=youtu.be

"We are excited to be part of the solution to creating community support for kids' programs while benefiting local businesses. We know people have a choice as to where they spend their money. Choosing a Swipe4TheKids business is a choice for equitable, measurable, and sustainable benefits for all," says Swipe4TheKids CEO Peter Riggio.

"We are happy to celebrate NFL Opening Day with Swipe4TheKids and we thank them for their generosity towards our families affected by autism," says Larry Houser, founder of Fullerton Cares and co-owner of Bourbon Street.
