Harvey Nash Honoured for Services to Trade and Investment by Vietnamese Government

LONDON, Sept. 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Harvey Nash Group and its Outsourcing Executive Chairman, Paul Smith have been honoured by the government of the Republic of Vietnam for services to trade, investment and cultural relations between the UK and Vietnam.

The prestigious award was presented to Mr Paul Smith in London by HE Ambassador for Vietnam Mr Vu Quang Minh and the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Party Mr Le Hoang Quan. The event, attended by HRH the Duke of York, celebrated 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UK and was supported by the Minister of State for Defence, Lord Astor.

Paul Smith has been leading Harvey Nash's global outsourcing business for over a decade, during which time the Group has built a world class outsourcing and offshore services centre employing over 2000 highly skilled engineering graduates. It is now the largest foreign owned Technology business in Vietnam.

Operating from its centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, NashTech is responsible for cutting edge 3G and 4G wireless research and testing services, commercial grade software development, BPO and IT outsourcing services to the Group's clients in Europe, the USA, Australia and Japan.

Executive Chairman Paul Smith commented,

"It is an honour to receive this recognition from the Vietnamese government particularly as the Harvey Nash Group has so successfully developed strong trading ties over a decade with one of the most dynamic members of the emerging Asian market, long before it became official British Government policy to support these investments.

"Working closely with Vietnam whilst building and managing Harvey Nash's software and BPO production centres has exposed the huge opportunity that this fast growing economy presents for business. I have developed a passion to introduce these opportunities to other British companies and am privileged as a businessman, to be able to support the strategic political and economic partnership between the UK and Vietnam. As a founder Council Member of the Vietnam-UK Network, there is a real opportunity to further influence the growing relationship."
