NACD Fellowship Credential Showcases Commitment to Continuous Learning

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Directors from public, private, and nonprofit boards demonstrated their commitment to advancing exemplary boardroom leadership by becoming NACD Fellows. The National Association of Corporate Directors' (NACD's) premier level of director credentialing promotes the highest standards of leadership in the boardroom through an extensive program that enables directors to become aware of current and emerging issues. More than 100 corporate directors and governance professionals became NACD Fellows in the second quarter of 2013.

NACD's Fellows serve on the boards of global corporations, private companies and nonprofits, including: The Bon-Ton Stores; Bristow Group; Commercial Metals; Delta Apparel; Ellie Mae; FHLBank Pittsburgh; Foot Locker; Franklin Covey; Marsh & McLennan; Maxwell Technologies; Monsanto; Nationstar Mortgage; Nu Skin Enterprises; StanCorp Financial Group; Tech Data; Vyteris; and Whiting Petroleum.

NACD's Fellowship Program is a comprehensive program of study developed exclusively for corporate directors who strive to stay aware of and knowledgeable about leading boardroom practices and trends that shape today's corporate governance environment. Candidates for NACD's Fellowship Program begin their program by completing a strong foundation course, which focuses on topical matters and committee-specific issues, followed by additional NACD education within a 12-month period. NACD Fellows maintain and advance their knowledge with continuous learning and peer-led collaboration and skill-specific learning opportunities, renewing their status annually.

"NACD Fellows are leaders focused on ensuring they possess the skills needed to navigate a changing corporate governance landscape," said Ken Daly, president and CEO of NACD. "I am proud to recognize these distinguished leaders who are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of governance."

NACD Fellows represent hundreds of companies and provide a snapshot of the caliber of corporate directors engaged in continuous learning with NACD—the leading organization that identifies, interprets and provides insights and information that boardroom leaders rely upon to apply their wisdom and knowledge and make sound strategic decisions.
