Led by Steve Wozniak, the American inventor, computer engineer and programmer who co-founded Apple Computer, business, academic, and security thought-leaders will take an interactive look into the future, and preview new research on this topic from ASIS International and Apollo Group. This event, which is open to CSO Roundtable members only, will include Bill Whitmore, President and CEO of AlliedBarton; Linda Harmon, Deputy Director of Security, Accenture; Christopher Ross, CPP, Head of Security Services, North America, Nokia Inc., Michael Sajor; Chief Information Officer, Apollo Group; and Jeff Greipp, Senior Director, Security and Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix and author of Future Works Skills 2020. Who are Today's Security Employers Looking to Hire and What Applicants Stand Out, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., Central, September 25. (Location: Career Pavilion)
During this interactive panel session, panelists Jerold A. Ramos Sr. CABR, CRM, Director of Strategic Recruiting/Military Liaison, AlliedBarton, and Kathy Lavinder, Founder, SI Placement, with moderator Jeff Greipp, J.D., Senior Director, Security & Criminal Justice, University of Phoenix/Apollo Group, will share what stands out in an applicant's history, provide advice on how to stand out from the crowd, describe what they look for in interviews and take career and job related questions.

Learning from Crisis: The Boston Blackout, 1:45 to 3 p.m., Central, September 25. (Location: S100a)
A fire in an electrical substation brought down the electrical grid in the center of Boston. Office towers, hotels and neighborhoods were plunged into complete darkness. Trains stopped, elevators halted and safety and security departments shifted into crisis mode. Fears of toxic fumes from the resulting fires further complicated crisis management efforts, leading to an order to shelter for thousands of people in buildings near the fire. After a three-day outage, many valuable lessons were learned about emergency protocols, security response, building systems, business recovery and population management. Participants will gain an understanding about how this one event activated multiple emergency plan components. Presenters include Paul Caruso, Senior District Manager in Boston for AlliedBarton, and Alan Snow, CPP, Director, Safety and Security for Boston Properties.

Instill a Safety Culture in a Security Program, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Central, September 25. (Location: S401a)
Attendees will gain an understanding about why a comprehensive safety program is the basis of a quality security program and how it can enhance their organization's brand and that of their partner organizations. Participants will be able to utilize the information shared to assess their current security programs and implement best practices and safety standards. AlliedBarton presenters include Brent O'Bryan, Vice President, Learning and Development, Rik Lisko, Vice President, Business Development, and Julie Havel, Corporate Safety Manager.
