FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Sept. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ACS Media, publisher of the ACS Yellow Pages, along with its Sales Agent, The Berry Company, will host directory recycling at The Equinox Marathon. Residents of Fairbanks can drop off their outdated directories for recycling while watching the 51st annual Equinox Marathon on Saturday, September 21.
ACS Yellow Pages are 100 percent recyclable, and can be converted into material such as home insulation and mulch. Interior Alaska Green Star is partnering with ACS Media and The Berry Company to recycle books collected at the race. Recycling bins will be located throughout the course as well as at The Pump House during bib pick-up. ACS Media and The Berry Company are also sponsors of this year's race.
"We are dedicated to keeping directories out of landfills in Fairbanks and across the country," said Laura Cole, Berry's Senior Director of Marketing. "We hope the community will stand behind our efforts and bring their outdated directories out to the Equinox Marathon."
The Berry Company has shown commitment to recycling for years through its annual Think Yellow, Go Green initiative. Think Yellow, Go Green is in its fifth year and has collected more than 750 tons of outdated directories to date, keeping over 1.5 million books out of landfills.
