Cogswell College Hosts Ron Diamond's "The Animation Show of Shows"

Closed Screenings Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 pm on Sunnyvale Campus

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 24, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cogswell College today announced they will host Ron Diamond's "The Animation Show of Shows" on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 pm. Acme Filmworks founder and show curator, Ron Diamond, created the annual Animation Show of Shows as a way of bringing the year's best shorts, selected from festivals around the world, to industry professionals who might not otherwise have an opportunity to see them.

This event, open to invited guests only, will allow current Cogswell students and Bay Area alumni to view animated shorts from film festivals around the world. Many of these films have only been available on a limited basis – making this rare opportunity even more special. Directors from five of the films – and a diverse array of countries including Russia, Latvia, France and Canada – will be at the event and available for Q&A's following the screening.

Previous screenings of The Animation Show of Shows at major studios such as DreamWorks, Pixar, Disney and many others throughout North America have served to inspire and enrich the many professionals who have been lucky enough to see them. Cogswell's animation alumni credits include 14 of the top-grossing films of 2012 such as Life of Pi, The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman. The Project X animation program at Cogswell has produced three animated shorts. These student films have won scores of awards at domestic and international film festivals.

Media are welcome to attend and interview Mr. Diamond, current Cogswell students and Cogswell alumni attending the screening. Mr. Diamond is available for pre-interviews by calling Kimberly Hathaway at 415-994-1097.
