Integrated Care Management Update Sets Frame For Institute On Changing Tech Requirements


GETTYSBURG, Pa., Oct. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OPEN MINDS has announced that Marci Nielsen, Ph.D., MPH, Chief Executive Officer, Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) will open The 2013 Technology & Informatics Institute with a keynote address, "The Evolution Of Patient-Centered Care & The Future Of Integration In Health Care." The institute, which is expected to draw over 600 health and human service executives, will take place October 24-25, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

"Integrated care management and integrated service delivery models are the foundation of strategy for many health and human service organizations. But with changing strategies come changing technology needs. Dr. Nielsen will provide the frame for our two-day deep dive into the emerging best practices in technology and informatics," said OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer, Monica E. Oss.

Prior to her role at PCPCC, Dr. Nielsen served as Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs and Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine's Department of Health Policy and Management; during which, she was appointed as the first Executive Director and Board Chair of the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA). Dr. Neilsen is a board member of the American Board of Family Physicians, and former member of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, TransforMED LLC, and the Mid-America Coalition on Health Care. She was also a committee member for the Institute of Medicine's Leading Health Indicators for Healthy People 2020 and Living Well with Chronic Illness: A Call for Public Health Action.
