Mr. Harms Will Lead Transcat's Analytical and Validation Business


ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Transcat, Inc. (Nasdaq:TRNS) (Transcat or the "Company"), a leading provider of accredited calibration, repair, inspection and compliance services and distributor of professional grade, handheld test, measurement and control instrumentation, announced that John Harms joined the Company as Vice President of Compliance Services.

Within this role, Mr. Harms will lead Transcat's initiatives to further develop relationships in the Analytical and Validation business. Mr. Harms has several years of industry related experience and has demonstrated success in establishing and growing account relationships with major FDA regulated, life science and medical devices manufacturing companies.

Prior to joining Transcat, Mr. Harms worked 12 years for Tektronix/Sypris Technologies, where he held leadership roles in both strategic business development and service operations.  His past experience also includes management roles for Telogy and Instrument Repair Labs, with oversight and P&L responsibility for multiple business units.
