Reno Diagnostic Centers Implement eRAD's Cloud-Based Teleradiology Solution

Federated Worklist and Integrated Medical Reporting Enable Service-Oriented Growth Strategy

BALTIMORE, Oct. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (Nasdaq:RDNT), a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, announced today that Reno Diagnostic Centers (RDC) has implemented eRAD's teleradiology platform as part of its growth strategy.

In addition to its two locations in Reno, Nev., RDC provides radiology services to multiple healthcare operations in northern Nevada. After initial implementation of eRAD technology in March of 2013, RDC has been able to integrate successfully with its customers' EMR and PACS systems so that medical reports are delivered quickly and accurately.

Ron Milbank, Chief Operating Officer of RDC, said, "We wanted to be able to walk into a hospital and say, 'We can provide your radiology services and be up and running in seven days.' No else can do that. We liked eRAD because the installation was seamless, and because speech recognition is integrated directly into the PACS ."

Radiologists can dictate directly into eRAD, which then auto-forwards the final report to an RDC server in a format that is easily translated to suit its final destination—whether it is a hospital PACS or an imaging center EMR. "Statistical data now shows that every time you change a radiologist's workflow, their accuracy goes down," Milbank said. "We didn't want to have to worry about disparate systems—'today you're working on this system, tomorrow you're working on that system, or the report format looks this way in one location, and that way in another location.' The radiologists work efficiently; they don't have to log in to a separate speech/dictation client and other systems. The biggest factor in choosing eRAD was worklist flexibility, with single login and single password."

"A key to our success was the ability to quickly bring RDC, and in turn their customers, live on the complete solution leveraging the eRAD Cloud," said Seth Koeppel, SVP of Sales for eRAD.  "In addition, the DICOM tag morphing capabilities of our solution ensured proper report formatting and data management."

"We have 12 different workstations across northern Nevada, and we read from all locations," Milbank said. "What's great about eRAD is that we have one worklist, and we don't need to worry about which facility we're reading for. We can read consistently and eRAD keeps track of what facility the study came from and what the rules are."

RDC has developed a reputation for technical innovation, and eRAD helps RDC deliver on its commitment to its customers—accurate reports with quick turnaround times.
