AlixPartners Congratulates Becky Roof on 'Women Leaders in Consulting' Award

Consulting magazine honors her outstanding client service

NEW YORK, Oct. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Becky Roof, a managing director at the global business advisory firm AlixPartners, today received congratulations from her AlixPartners colleagues in advance of her officially receiving an award from Consulting magazine next month naming her one of 12 "Women Leaders in Consulting" for the year. Consulting will present the awards at a gala dinner on Nov. 7 at New York's St. Regis Hotel. Roof is being recognized for her exceptional client service.

Roof, who has been with AlixPartners since 1998, currently serves as the interim chief financial officer of Kodak, where she has played a key role in helping the company successfully transform into a B2B technology business focused on innovations in commercial imaging. Kodak's transformation has been noted as one of the most successful reorganizations in recent years. In particular, Roof played a central role on the team that developed the unique solution of carving out Kodak's consumer and document-imaging operations and spinning them off to the company's UK pension fund, a move that preserved jobs and settled a $2.8-billion claim against the company.

"Few professionals in her field can match the accomplishments of Becky Roof," said Fred Crawford, CEO of AlixPartners. "Becky's stellar client service reflects her deep experience, strategic and financial capabilities, and personable leadership style.  She is the embodiment of AlixPartners' own core values, and is very deserving of this recognition."

Other notable successes in Roof's career include her role as interim global controller of chemicals giant LyondellBasell, where she helped lead that company through one of the largest and most successful reorganizations ever attempted; chief restructuring officer of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries; interim CFO of Anchor Glass Container; interim CFO of Atkins Nutritionals; interim CFO of Fleming Companies (now Core-Mark Holding); and advisor to Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental during their mutual restructuring.

Consulting received more than 400 nominations this year for its achievement awards. Each year, "the quality of the nominations and the accomplishments of the winners get more impressive," said Joe Kornik, the magazine's publisher and editor in chief.

Outside the office, Roof was formerly a member of the executive and management committees of the American Bankruptcy Institute, and initiated that organization's Corporate Restructuring Competition for promising MBA students.  She also supports Parkinson's disease research and environmental advocacy through several venues, and was a judge for the sailing competition during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
