Columbus continues profit growth

Continued growth in sale of industry solutions, increased sale of own software and better earnings in consultancy services ensure a 62 % growth in earnings Q3 YTD.


Columbus A/S has announced Interim Management Statement for Q3 2013. The consultancy shows an increase in EBITDA of 62 %. The positive progress is primarily driven by growth in sale of industry solutions, increased sale of own software and focus on improving earnings in the consultancy business.

”Columbus follows our plan and the result for Q3 confirms our strategy”, says CEO Thomas Honoré.

Revenues in Q3 YTD amounted to DKK 636.2m. EBITDA amounted to DKK 41.3m, corresponding to an increase of 62% compared to 2012. Revenues in Q3 2013 amounted to DKK 182.6m and EBITDA in the level of DKK 5.8m.

Market focus yield results
Columbus continues the focus on sale of industry solutions within the food, retail and manufacturing segments. Revenue within these three segments increased by 54 %, primarily driven by the industry solution Manufacturing.

Increased sale of Columbus software
Revenues from Columbus software in Q3 increased by 22 % compared to 2012, while revenues from external software declined. In total, revenues from Columbus software increased by 11 % in Q3 YTD. Sale of Columbus licenses and maintenance means that Columbus has a stronger position in the market, while earnings have improved.

Improved earnings within consultancy services 
The sale of consultancy services increased by 9 % in 2013, while earnings have improved. Columbus executes a tight cost control and solid focus on improving productivity.

Columbus maintains expectations for 2013
The announced expectations to 2013 are being maintained, and thus Columbus expects revenues in the level of DKK 900m and an EBITDA in the level of DKK 60m.
