President Obama to Speak at The Wall Street Journal CEO Council Annual Meeting

NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- President Barack Obama will join more than 100 global chief executives at the annual meeting of The Wall Street Journal CEO Council (http://ceocouncil.wsj.com) on November 19 in a session that will be live-streamed on WSJ.com. The CEO Council meeting, which takes place November 18-19 in Washington, D.C., brings together the world's business leaders, policymakers and others each year to address the major issues confronting the world economy.

President Obama's session will include brief remarks followed by an interview with a senior Wall Street Journal editor. Lew, secretary of the U.S. Treasury; Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee and U.S. representative (R., Wis.); James Clapper, director of national intelligence; Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff;   Jim Yong Kim, president of the World Bank;  Penny Pritzker, secretary of commerce; Lawrence H. Summers, former director of the National Economic Council; and many more.

In addition to the on-stage discussions, The Wall Street Journal CEO Council meeting includes subject-specific Task Force sessions in which the CEO members work together to identify priorities for action that business and government can take to address a range of challenges in the corporate sector and the economy. 

The results of the CEO Council annual meeting will be published in a special Journal Report on November 25, available in the U.S., Europe and Asia print editions of The Wall Street Journal and on WSJ.com.
