VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 8, 2013) - Coastal Contacts Inc., the parent company to Canadian e-retailer giant, announced today its plans to expand into the Toronto market. The first physical store in Eastern Canada will open its doors on the largest shopping day of the year, Black Friday. Well-situated, the store is located on Queen Street West, one of Toronto's most well-known neighbourhoods for restaurants and shopping.

"We're looking forward to connecting with our customers in Toronto," said Roger Hardy, CEO of Coastal Contacts Inc. "Before announcing our expansion plans, we wanted to find a location that met all of our needs. Now that we have the location, our next priority is to recruit knowledgeable staff that will represent our brand in Toronto."

From managers to eyewear staff and opticians, the company is working quickly to staff the store by hosting a job fair on the ground in Toronto. This isn't unfamiliar territory as the company recently opened and staffed its second retail location in the Vancouver market. The job fair will be held today, November 8 from 10am-8pm at One King West Hotel.

"As we transition into brick and mortar, adapting to the omni-channel model, we want to be recognized as leaders in the physical retail space which is why we decided to open on Black Friday," said Steve Wallace, Vice President of Sales at "We're excited to be able to take the feedback we've received from our Vancouver retail locations and apply it into our offline operations across the country."

Future expansion plans for the online eyewear company have not been announced, however, Hardy said more retail locations will follow. For more information or details on the store opening please visit:
