On 7 November 2013, UAB Delfi and UAB Sport Media signed an agreement of purchase and sale of shares, according to which UAB Delfi acquires 51% holding in UAB Sport Media. Lithuanian Basketball Federation stays as the second largest shareholder in the company.
UAB Sport Media runs the portal sportotv.lt and holds exclusive rights to online broadcasts of all core basketball events organised by Lithuanian Basketball Federation for the next 9 years.
The purpose of the acquisition is to expand the portfolio of specialised sites controlled by Delfi. The deal provides the possibility for up to 600 live sports streams per year and creates unique online sales product.
