VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Nov. 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Virginia Beach-based marketing firm Reed & Associates Marketing, Inc. (R&A) joined hundreds on Saturday, November 23, 2013 for the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk™ in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. This was the fourth year the R&A team has participated in the event.

This year, R&A was the top fundraiser out of 98 total Hampton Roads teams with $10,712, accounting for 15% of the total local funds raised.

For individual fundraising totals, five Reed & Associates Marketing team members placed in the top 10 out of 1,015 participating individuals for the Hampton Roads walk. Leading the team was President and Co-Owner Ashley Knepper placing second, Cindy Phillips third, Jessica Miller seventh, Ally Haberkorn eighth and Kendal Koenig ninth.

Next month, the R&A team will be making a trip to Memphis, Tenn., to attend the Fourth Annual Window World St. Jude Day. During the trip, the team will spend time with the patients and families of St. Jude delivering holiday gifts and participating in arts and crafts.

Continuing community philanthropic efforts this holiday season, R&A recently donated food to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore during their 17^th annual Mayflower Marathon Food Drive. In addition, as a local community partner, R&A will be participating in the Girls on the Run of South Hampton Roads 5K and One-Mile Reindeer Dash on December 14^th at Town Point Park in Norfolk.
