WSFS Announces Winners of the 5th Annual Pet Photo Contest

WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:WSFS), the parent company of WSFS Bank, today announced the winners of the 5th Annual WSFS Pet Photo Contest. The "Best in Show", "Most Personality" and "Kids & Pets" categories were chosen by a panel of judges from the Delaware Humane Association, while the "Most Popular" vote was selected by the highest number of votes through the website. Participants were encouraged to vote once per day throughout the contest for their favorite pet photos. Winners can be viewed by visiting www.wsfspetcontest.com.

"The 5th Annual Pet Photo Contest brought some amazing photos of pets of all kinds and was again a smashing success," said Rick Wright, Executive Vice President & Chief Retail Banking Officer. "Engaging with our Customers and non-customers in this fashion is such a fun way to connect with the community and their love of animals," Wright continued.

The "Best in Show" winner was Caesar, a 2-year old Bullmastiff submitted by Rhonda Bowman of Wilmington, Del. Tori Golebiewski of Wilmington, Del. and her 6-week old kitten, Nugget, were the winners of the "Most Personality" category, while Harley, an 11-year old Saint Bernard and his playmate submitted by Jeremy Tomaszewski of Wilmington, Del. took home the first place in "Kids & Pets." The "Most Popular" winner was Emily Rose, a 15 and a half year old Pug from Penryn, PA submitted by Kathleen Haldeman. Winners each received a Concord Pet Foods & Supplies gift card and trophy.

 "Viewing the submissions and allowing the Delaware Humane Association employees the opportunity to judge this year's contest was a real joy," said Patrick J. Carroll, Executive Director of the Delaware Humane Association. "The passion WSFS Bank and its Associates have for animals is why this partnership is so meaningful for us." 

At the culmination of this year's contest, WSFS Bank donated $2,500 to the Delaware Humane Association to help them further their mission and vision of securing a safe environment for all companion animals.
