Wellness Center in Abington Announces New Year's Weight Loss Program

ABINGTON, Pa., Dec. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In-Line Wellness in Abington, PA announced that the practice is offering a special New Year's wellness program called "8 Weeks to Wellness." The program is designed to help patients kick-start long-term weight loss by adopting healthier eating and exercise habits. "8 Weeks to Wellness" is a personalized diet program that focuses on health, not sickness with a customized diet, on-site personal training sessions, weekly mediation instruction, and customized chiropractic care and massage therapy. The program also includes an accountability coach to support patients in achieving their weight loss and wellness goals.

"8 Weeks to Wellness," a new weight loss and wellness program offered by In-Line Wellness, is helping patients not only meet their New Year's weight loss goals, but also kick unhealthy habits to the curb.

The personalized diet program includes training sessions, a full fitness exam, health screening, and dedicated weight loss coaching to help patients achieve their fitness and health goals.

"8 Weeks to Wellness is a revolutionary program that goes beyond weight loss and encompasses all aspects of a healthy lifestyle," said Dr. Edward S. Degon. "An unhealthy lifestyle is the root cause for 75 percent of all disease. The 8 Weeks to Wellness program teaches patients to become their own best doctor, breaking unhealthy habits and replacing these habits with new, positive ones."

According to Dr. Degon, the average 8 Weeks to Wellness patient loses 15.4 pounds, 3.26 inches off his/her waistline, 3 inches of his/her hips, increases muscle mass by 19% and decreases BMI by 2.37%.

"Patients lose weight and keep the pounds off because 8 Weeks to Wellness completely changes their approach to eating and exercise," said Dr. Degon. "We help patients adopt new, healthy habits that support their long-term health. This is not a 'lose weight quick' program that promises big results, but a permanent lifestyle change."

The 8 Weeks to Wellness program includes supplemental nutrition shakes, meal plans and easy recipes; all the food can be found in a patient's local grocery store.

"We want to encourage patients to cook and prepare their own food, rather than relying on pre-packaged meals," said Dr. Degon. "Cooking healthy meals helps build a positive relationship with food."

Patients also receive chiropractic care and massage therapy to support whole body health. In-Line Wellness Center has served the Abington, Huntingdon Valley, Glenside, Horsham, Jenkintown, Willow Grove and Philadelphia communities for more than 20 years.

In addition to wellness care for weight loss, the practice also offers drug-free pain management, chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and therapeutic exercises. These services are designed to improve physical mobility, help patients reach their fitness goals, prevent injuries and illness, and increase patients' overall sense of well-being.
