Playa Hotels & Resorts Names Kevin Froemming Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer


FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bruce Wardinski, Chief Executive Officer, Playa Hotels & Resorts B.V. ("Playa") today announced the appointment of Kevin Froemming, to the newly created position of Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer for Playa Resorts Management. Previously Froemming was President of Unique Vacations, the worldwide representatives of Sandals & Beaches Resorts.

The announcement follows Playa's recent agreement with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels to own and manage Hyatt's two new all-inclusive brands: Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara, throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Playa also recently acquired Real Resorts.

"Kevin brings expertise and demonstrated success in building profitable upscale brands in the highly competitive and fast growing all-inclusive resort market," said Wardinski. "Kevin's extensive experience in global marketing, distribution, branding and new technology will be critical to Playa's growing portfolio," added Wardinski.

Froemming will work in conjunction with Playa Resorts Management's Chief Executive Officer, Alex Stadlin. "Kevin's combination of consumer and trade industry marketing experience, coupled with his ability to grow business while managing complex organizations, is an excellent fit for Playa. Froemming brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, technology, and customer support operations to this new position. Prior to his 10 year tenure as President of Unique Vacations, he rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer of The Mark Travel Corporation's owned brands. In this capacity, he was responsible for bottom line profitability, and led the acquisition and integration team that was responsible for the addition of several major travel companies that were successfully integrated into The Mark Travel Corporation's portfolio of brands. He has also held senior positions at Wyndham Hotels and Renaissance Cruise lines.
