Professional Seminar Series Explores Sophisticated Machine-Learning Technology in Large-Volume Data Analytics for Legal and Compliance Matters

UBIC's seminar is by invitation only and is intended for legal and compliance professionals who manage or require management of large volumes of data generated and collected by corporations with cross-border operations.

The seminar commences with Breakfast and Registration at 8:00 am and opens with a keynote address at 9:00 am on the use of technology-assisted review technology in information governance by Jason R. Baron, currently Of Counsel at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and a member of that firm's Information Governance and eDiscovery practice. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle & Reath, Mr. Baron was Director of Litigation for the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration and trial lawyer and senior counsel at the Department of Justice.

Following the keynote address, the UBIC Signature Series Seminar will offer two panels. The first panel, Benchmarking Big Data Analytics, features a moderated discussion that includes noted legal experts in the field drawn from international law firms located in the Washington D.C. area. The day's second panel, also a moderated discussion with noted government and private legal experts, addresses Data Privacy Challenges for Global Corporations under Regulatory Investigation.

The seminar ends with closing remarks from the Honorable John M. Facciola, U.S. Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Judge Facciola will address the pace of technological change over the past 10 years in electronic discovery and how that has impacted lawyers and judges.
