LogMeIn's Xively Earns Best in Show Award for IoT Solution at ARM TechCon 2013

Internet of Things Public Cloud Innovator Recognized for Accelerating Development of ARM-Based Connected Products

BOSTON, Dec. 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xively, a subsidiary of LogMeIn (Nasdaq:LOGM) and creator of the first public cloud platform for the commercial Internet of Things (IoT), today announced it was awarded Best in Show / Software at ARM TechCon 2013. The company was honored for its Xively Jumpstart Kit, ARM mbed Edition, a rapid prototyping-to-production bundle that speeds development and significantly reduces the cost and complexity of bringing IoT-connected products and solutions to market.

The ARM TechCon Best of Show awards recognize standout technologies that have impacted the market in the past year. Winners, who were selected by a panel of distinguished judges, were announced at UBM Tech's ARM TechCon conference on October 31, 2013.

"With more than 75 percent of businesses already exploring the IoT (according to the latest Economist IoT report1), there is a critical need for a fast, simple method to develop and test connected products," said Simon Ford, Director, IoT Platforms, ARM. "The Xively Jumpstart Kit ARM mbed Edition provides a great way to accelerate the new wave of intelligent technology that is transforming our world."

"Many innovative software products were showcased at ARM TechCon 2013, but Xively stood out. By working with ARM to create an out-of-the-box way for developers to go from prototype to volume deployment of IoT-based products, Xively is helping turn the promise of IoT into reality for companies around the world," said Brian Gillooly, VP and Editor-in-Chief, Events, InformationWeek and UBM Tech.

"The real value of the IoT is in harnessing data from millions of devices to transform customer relationships, drive operational efficiencies and boost revenue. The sooner companies can gain IoT-generated insights, the sooner they can realize these amazing benefits," said Chad Jones, VP Product Strategy, Xively. "We're thrilled ARM TechCon recognizes the tremendous impact Xively can have on helping businesses rapidly create game-changing IoT-based solutions."

The Xively Jumpstart Kit combines ARM mbed, a platform for rapidly building connected devices using ARM-based microcontrollers, with Xively Cloud Services, making the IoT a practical reality for everyone from entrepreneurs to established Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
